Managed site connection
Guardian Connect Pod
A small managed device on the existing CCTV LAN
The Guardian Connect Pod connects to the customer’s existing CCTV network and internet connection. It maintains the managed link used to reach only the CCTV sources commissioned for that site.

Technical details
The current platform uses supported MikroTik RouterOS 7 hardware. The Pod establishes an outbound WireGuard tunnel, uses unique key-only SSH management through that tunnel, and applies restricted mappings for commissioned CCTV endpoints.

Security technical details
Customer-site traffic uses an outbound WireGuard tunnel. Viewer links are cryptographically signed and expire automatically. Each media link is bound to its approved stream. Recorder RTSP credentials are encrypted in Guardian Connect, used server-side, and are not placed in browser URLs or returned to the operator. Pod management uses unique key-only SSH credentials accepted through the tunnel.
Guardian Connect does not provide general customer-network access, recorder playback, camera control, recording or a native NVR interface.

Compatibility technical details
The current implementation uses RTSP streams. H.264 substreams are recommended for reliable browser viewing. Guardian Connect supports Hikvision and Dahua RTSP path presets plus manually configured generic RTSP paths. Model, codec, channel and network configuration still determine compatibility.

Who can use Guardian Connect?
Guardian Connect is available to approved GuardianAI security-company partners that want to offer event-led off-site CCTV monitoring to their customers.
Does Guardian Connect replace GuardianAI?
No. GuardianAI must be installed first to detect people and send the marked alert. Connect is added to that GuardianAI site for live verification.
What can the control-room operator view?
The operator can open the event camera when it is identified and select other cameras commissioned for that customer site. A configured fallback camera can be used when the event camera cannot be identified.
Does the operator need each recorder login?
No. Recorder credentials are handled server-side and are not exposed to or entered by the operator.
Does it require port forwarding or a fixed public IP?
No inbound recorder port or fixed public IP is required. The Guardian Connect Pod initiates its managed connection outward from the customer site and can operate behind CGNAT.
Will it work with every CCTV system?
No. Compatibility depends on a suitable live stream, codec, camera or recorder configuration, and the supported site-connectivity setup. These are checked during commissioning.
Who provides monitoring and armed response?
Your security company remains responsible for event assessment, customer communication, monitoring and armed response. GuardianAI and Guardian Connect provide the detection and live-view technology.
What happens if live view is unavailable?
The GuardianAI marked alert is still sent. Live viewing can be unavailable if the site internet, managed connection or camera stream is offline, so the operator follows the security company’s normal response procedure.
